Lice treatments

These parasites spread quickly from person to person and cause an itchy scalp. Fortunately, today there are many effective treatments available in pharmacies to eliminate lice and nits.
1. Anti-lice shampoos
The most commonly used treatments to eliminate lice, they usually contain chemicals such as Permethrin or Pyrethrin that are effective in killing adult lice. These shampoos are applied to wet hair and should be left on for a while before rinsing out, some of them may require a second application after a week to kill newly hatched lice from surviving nits.

They should be left to act as directed before being rinsed thoroughly, some of them may also require a second application after a week to ensure complete elimination of lice.
3. Fine and special combs
Lice combs have very close together and fine teeth, allowing them to carefully comb the hair and remove lice and nits. They are often used in addition to shampoos or lotions to mechanically remove parasites and dead eggs. It is important to use these combs regularly and clean the teeth thoroughly after each use to prevent reinfestation.
4. Natural treatments
These are products often formulated with essential oils, such as tea tree oil or lavender oil, which have properties known to repel lice. While these natural treatments may be an option, it is important to note that they may not be as effective as conventional chemical treatments. Additionally, it is essential to carefully follow the instructions for use and consider potential allergies to essential oils.
Additional Tips for Removing Lice
In addition to using the treatments mentioned above for which your pharmacist can give you precise information , it is important to take additional measures to completely eliminate lice and prevent their spread:
Wash all clothing, bedding, towels and hats that may have come into contact with lice at high temperatures.
Vacuum carpets, sofas and car seats to remove lice and nits that may be present.
Inform the school, daycare or other people in close contact with the infested person to take the necessary measures to prevent the spread of lice.
